Tokyo Paralympics to open as Japan battles Covid-19 surge

Tokyo's Paralympic Games will officially be declared open on Tuesday evening despite a surge in Covid-19 cases in the country. While most of the stadium's 68,000 seats is expected to be empty, Still, the excitement is clear among the 4,400 athletes taking part this year. Among them are Germany's world record-setting long-jumper Markus Rehm and Japan's wheelchair tennis legend Shingo Kunieda.
