The inter-linking of Godavari and Krishna rivers to benefit drought-prone areas in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh has been shelved. The much-hyped plan fell apart following the AP government’s reluctance to take up the project owing to huge costs involved and its focus shifting to linking of Godavari and Penna rivers on its soil, highly-placed sources said.
