Michel was allegedly paid 42 million euro (Rs 295 crore) bribe by Anglo-Italian firm AgustaWestland to pay off Indian politicians, bureaucrats and defence ministry personnel to swing the Rs 3,700 crore deal for supply of 12 VVIP choppers in AgustaWestland’s favour. An Interpol red notice was issued against Christian Michel on November 2015.
