Terming the removal of CBI director Alok Verma "illegal" and "criminal", Congress president Rahul Gandhi said that the director of the national investigation agency can only be appointed or removed by consensus between the CJI, the PM and the leader of the opposition. Rahul also claimed that attempts are being made to suppress evidence.
